Top Five mistakes of a bluetooth headset owner

The bluetooth headset. They are becoming more and more popular as bluetooth is available almost all new phones. I own one, though I rarely use it. Here is a list of issues I have with the things.

  1. Using the headset in a situation that does not demand a headset
    • Follow this general rule: If your hands are busy, you can wear it. This includes times such as driving and carrying groceries. This does not include times such as walking around.
  2. Acting like an jerk
    • So you own a phone with bluetooth, you’re not really special. Most new phones come with the protocol. Normal people don’t automatically know that you’re so important you can’t hold a phone to your ear. The things are small enough you can’t see them right away so you just look crazy.
  3. Having two conversations at the same time
    • This is the one that really bothers me. I find it very rule when someone is on the phone trying to order something at Starbucks or other establishment. The people don’t know who you are talking to and then you rudely mention that you are on the phone. Hang up for a second and place your take care of your business.
  4. Wearing it all the time
    • I was sitting next to a man in the movies wearing his headset. The blue blinking was bothering me so I asked if he could remove it. He pulled a number 2. Please don’t wear it all the time. If you just have to use it put it in your pocket and when your phone rings put it on.
  5. Not learning from their mistakes
    • A few years ago my roommates and I were accosted by an RA. He happened to have a bluetooth headset. This was the first person I had ever seen with one and I had no idea what was going on. He explained that we were being loud. We were, my 500 watt stereo mostly to blame. Then he started back on his phone conversation. I said excuse me and he pointed to his ear with his headset. We had a few other run-ins with the RA that semester and he was always on his phone and he would always do the same thing.
